The battle has always been over the flesh and the spirit. We have a choice to follow satan’s way which is by yourself or, God’s way, by his spirit. We have a choice: By the ability of the spirit, God’s quality of life or satans way. Remember Lucifer fell because of pride and led a revolt again God: he has infected the human race with: you don’t need God, you can do it yourself, the Tree of knowledge, human knowledge, Good and Evil.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. It is over life or death.
He succeeded with Adam but failed with Jesus (the second Adam) in the wilderness. What did Jesus say: it is written? In conclusion: Jesus said he would follow Gods word not satans.
Mat 4:9-10 and said unto him, all these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then said Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shall worship the Lord thy God, and him only shall thou serve.
In the book of Hebrews 4:1-11; God is saying that there is a rest, a rest from self and a way to trust God with your life. Works which we must cease from in the Bible has always been attributed to the flesh, the ability of the flesh to get things done. Having Gods spirit allows us to be righteous before Him because Jesus took the Law, the way of flesh to the cross died with Jesus. The Law came to an end when Jesus Died.
Heb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Heb 4:10 for he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Remember that in the Bible; the law is the control of the flesh (or attempt), it shows that it can’t be done. The law was a curse to them that tried.
Gal_3:10 for as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continued not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Gal_3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hanged on a tree:
The curse is the law and Jesus died for the Law, being made the curse and dying and shedding his blood for the final sacrifice. The Law came to an end and died with Jesus’ death. He finished the requirements of the Law, the final sacrifice. The veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom, signify that there was no more separation between man and God. We have direct access to God by way of the Holy Spirit.
Heb 4:1-11 tell a story of the Jewish people leaving Egypt being led by Moses to the land of Canaan, Gods promise lands, a land of rest, where the people could trust God for everything. But they refused to enter Canaan and trust God and decided to trust themselves and ended up staying in the wilderness for 40 years. When all the people who were infected with self, Egypt, the world, and aligned with satan’s system were dead, then the new generation born in the wilderness with God’s help and a new generation who now trusted God would enter into Gods rest. The type and shadow for us today is resting in Gods promises by way of Jesus and the receiving and relying on the Holy Spirit for Gods life, God’s quality of live. God has provided the tree of life in Jesus. We can be led by the spirit, walk in the spirit and trust God (faith) with our life. Look around and see what satan has created for Adam when he choose the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil

Why is this important?
- You believe in the end of the Law, which did not work, and Jesus paid for the completion of it. His final word: it is finished (John17:4)
- You believe in the resurrected power of God to indwell you.
- You believe in the Holy Spirit to help you in all things in life, not self to make things happen.
- You believe that the truth will set you free.
- You believe that you have God’s quality of life.
- You believe that God loves you.
- You believe that God has always had a plan for your life and want a relationship with you to share it.
- You believe that having God Spirit makes you righteousness with God.
- You believe that satan cannot attack you anymore.
- You believe that now must make choices with Gods direction.
Now Rest in The Finished Work, the end of the Law and the beginning of Grace, your sins are forgiven. You are righteous before God and you have been redeemed. Understand that Eph 2:8-9 is a gift from God! a Free gift paid 2000 yrs ago.
