Have you ever wondered what the Bible says about be double minded and why it is important? You may ask what does it have to with anything. It makes a difference on how strong your relationship with God is and if you believe that satan is part of the problem. You can not under estimate him. He can mess up your mind and create doubt in God and the power of God.Psalms 119:113 (NKJV) 113 I hate the double-minded, But I love your law.
When David wrote this Psalm he was making a comparison with double-minded and the Law. The Law was given to Moses after he led the children of Israel out of Egypt. he law for governing the people who will be called the nation of Israel. The Israelites were to follow the law to the lettre. Why the comparison? If you follow the law completely then you would be single minded.
So when you are double minded you are not following the law. Christian’s saved by Grace don’t live by the law; but we do live by the spirit. If you are led by the spirit then we are not under the law.(Gal 5:18) So you don’t have to be concerned about the law. We should be concerned with our relationship with God and if we are singled minded. Lets look at another verse of scripture.James 4:7-8 (NKJV) 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Submitting to God in important in our relationship with God; when we believe it produces Faith and then it will give us authority over satan. When you believe you will exercise your faith and satan will flee from you; he will stop talking to you.
Remember he is the power of the air. So if we tell him to stop messing with our mind, get lost; he will have to flee from us. Always remember that satan can mess with our mind since he is the Prince of the power of the air.
He talked to Adam and Eve and look what happened with them. We are affected by things we hear; radio, cell phone, computer, TV, other people and Satan is the prince of the power of the air.Ephesians 2:1-2 (KJV)1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
A double-minded person is someone who doubts God and His promises because he hears something else that confuses them. They may ask God for help, but are unsure if God will come through for them or not. He does not realize that his own doubts about God hinder the fulfillment of his prayers. “That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord!” (Quote from an article written by Rob Chaffart)
James 1:7-8 (NKJV)7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
If you were to drive 100 miles to pick up something, as you approach the pickup place would you say “I wonder if it is open” or “I hope it is open”. You would have planned in advance. You would have to be double minded to have doubt. The same is true of God; when you know him then you expect answer to prayer, direction in your life, health and family. You wouldn’t say I hope he will hear my prayer. When you are single minded there is a clear understanding of who you are and a clear understanding that God is part of your life. When you are single minded, you will receive from God.
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) 6 be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Jesus will keep you heart and mind; you must stay single focused, be positive and have a clear direction. It is very important to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Start with expecting God to answer prayer.
Romans 12:2 (KJV) 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Satan wants you to be conformed to the world, because is the prince of this world. Jesus defeated him on the cross, being buried and being raised from the dead by the power of God. It’s his power we want in our lives not the power of satan.

Here is the Introduction from the book;
The world has been willing to comply with the wishes and projects of Satan to the extent of ceasing to believe that he really exists; this Unbelief being most advantageous to his present undertakings. Yet the Opinions of men have never changed the facts of revelation, and, According to Scripture, Satan exists; still possessed with great power And influence over the affairs of men–a power and influence to be Increasingly dreaded as this present age advances.
The teachings of Scripture on this important subject are but little Understood by Christians and seem to be entirely outside the thought of the world. It is, therefore, to be expected that any attempt to present this truth will seem, to many, mere folly and fiction.
The name Satan has by no means been lost. It has, however, been associated with a most unscriptural fancy. Without reference to revelation, the world has imagined a grotesque being, fitted withstrange trappings, who has been made the central character in theatrical performances; and by this relation to the unreality of the theatre, the real character of Satan has come to be only one of the myths of a bygone age. Scripture reveals a detailed description of the person and career of Satan; beginning with his creation; his original condition; his fall, and on to his kingdom with all its developments, and his final defeat and banishment.
It presents a personage so mighty and so prominent in the world to-day that the Christian heart would fail, were it not for faith in the One who has triumphed over all principalities and powers.You can read a copy by going to the following; Satan His Motives and Methods by Lewis Sperry Chafer here is the link
